Have you heard of Silly Bands? Well, if you haven't you must be living under a rock (or not have a child under the age of 12)! If you have, then you know how truly silly Silly Bands are! Rubber bands in different shapes, for $5 a package? Really? Really! Megan and Skyler had a great time exchanging and playing with their Silly Bands conference weekend in St. George. Megan will come home from school and show me which new Silly Band she got that day because she traded with someone or a friend was being nice. I don't get it, but I know my mom never understood Garbage Pail Kids cards and those were the best ever!

October General Conference 2010
For General Conference in October we went to St. George with our friends, Todd and Kristy. We were across the street neighbors from them in South Jordan. Todd and Kristy are great friends and Kristy and I hit it off right away all those years ago. It was sad to move away from them, but I am so happy we still make time to see each other and spend time together. We had a relaxing weekend hanging out by the pool and watching TV, etc. Nothing too exciting, but great company!

So, I Sewed!
Labor Day weekend I decided that I was going to sew, so I did. You have to know that I am not a seamstress by any means of the definition, so this was a big task I gave myself. I read a few tutorials online for the pillow case dress, bought the supplies needed, and then began. I used my mother-in-laws sewing machine because, well I don't sew! She had to show me how to thread the bobbin and thread the machine and then I was off. I was only going to make one for Morgan, but decided I may as well make one for Megan since everything was out and I was in the mood. I finished them both and for a first time they aren't too bad. However, neither of my girls have actually worn them yet - bad sign? I don't particularly like the way they hang, but I will work on that for the next time. And next time, I won't use an actual pillow case, I will use much cuter material.

More Cabin Fun
We headed to the cabin once again this summer for a weekend in August. I love the cabin. So many memories from growing up to even now. I have been fortunate enough to have had the cabin in my life forever. Sadly, it is time that the cabin is sold. Happily, it looks as though an aunt and uncle will be buying it. In the summer the cabin is divided into weeks and each family (brothers and sisters on my dad's side) gets some weeks throughout the summer. The first week the Keith and Kay family had was when my entire family was there the week of the 4th of July. The second week was in August. All of my siblings work or live out of town so there wasn't a chance that we could all get up there for the entire week. Ryan and I took off early on Friday and then headed up. It was just us and that was great. We went riding for a bit, made dinner, roasted smores, played games, watched movies, went for walks, and of course went to the pond and swings! I had to get some cabin pictures for memory. Hopefully we can still visit from time to time ;)!

Weekend Getaway
We decided to take a weekend and getaway earlier in the summer. We have driven by Daniels Summit Lodge several times and always said it would be nice to go. So, we just did! They have an indoor pool and hot tub so that had the girls and I ready. It is also close to a lot of trails so we took the vroom-vroom with us. We went out riding the night we got there, saw a great sunset, and the girls got some flowers from their daddy. After that we came back to our room, changed and went swimming. The water in the pool - WAY too cold for me. So I sat in the hot tub and Ryan swam with the girls. When we got up the next morning we took the girls swimming again, this time I was stuck in the cold water. Later in the morning we headed home. It was nice to get away and give the girls a little treat!
