Dinner Time!

We had spaghetti for dinner the other night and I think the pictures speak for themselves! I couldn't resist and had to take pictures of Morgan eating!

Licking her fingers!

Trying to get it all on the fork!

First Grade

On Tuesday, July 28th, Megan started 1st grade. It is crazy, but she was so ready. Megan is on "A" track in Jordan School District and is now going to Rose Creek Elementary. Her teacher is Mrs. Saunders, and Megan told me that she thinks she is cute, but not cute in like the cute-cute way, but you know...cute! To hear Megan say it is really cute. I have been pleased with her teacher and the school. For the first 2 weeks they has color days and Megan loved that. She planned her outfit every night and even has woke up to her alarm (when mom remembers to set it). She is reading so well and her math is great. She loves to learn, but even more she loves to teach! When we get home from school/work, she likes to play school where she is the teacher. She does a really good job. She was worried that she would be the shortest in her class, because according to her she is always the shortest! Well, I know a thing or two about being short, so I told her it didn't matter how tall or short she is, it matters how she treats others. I love my little Meggies! When I told her I wanted to take some pictures before we left, she knew exactly where and what she wanted to do...just like we did for Kindergarten!

Sitting on the porch bench.

Standing to show off her backpack.

Waiting at the bus stop with mom.

Trying to be patient while we wait for the bus.

Chillin' with her daddy at the bus stop.

Walking into school!

From the mouth of Megan

Ryan, Megan, and I were sitting around Monday night after Megan gave us our family night lesson. We were talking about different things and some how eating habits were brought up. I told her that I needed to not eat so much food. Megan then said, "Dad needs to go on a diet" I asked her why and she said, in a whisper so dad couldn't hear, "because then he won't have gas!" She and I laughed so hard...Ryan asked what was funny and what she said, so I told him and he laughed too. After I stopped laughing, I told Megan that this was one for the blog...so here it is!

Being a Mom

Last night after I made the girls dinner of fabulous chicken nuggets at 7:30 pm, I was doing the dishes. I asked Megan if she had enough to eat, she said yes, and then I said that I am sorry that I am the world's worst mother. Megan then said, "Oh, you aren't that bad mom." She said it with such honesty, yet simplicity. I love that girl. At least I know I am not the world's worst mother according to my daughter!
