Easter (finally)

I decided that I better post Easter pics before Christmas gets here! Easter was the usual...dye eggs, fill plastic eggs, go to Church, hunt for eggs, eat candy, etc. We had my brother, Peter, and his family, my brother, Kenny, and my parents over on Easter for a BBQ. After dinner we had an egg hunt for the girls. Peter works for Hershey's so we had A LOT of treats to put in our eggs. After my family left, we went over to Ryan's parents house and the girls had another hunt to go on. We all had a great time with our families.

It's Official!

It is official, name tags and all! My parents had a meeting downtown on the Monday that they were to leave for their mission. Since I work at the Church Office Building, I asked (more like begged) them to stop by before they left. I got to see them in full mission attire! They were both so happy and excited, plus they looked like cute seniors missionaries! So, they left for the drive to Florida and have since made it and are adjusting to mission life. Love you guys!!

Farewell to Mom and Dad

I am not sure if I mentioned it, but my parents were called to serve a Church Service Mission in St. Cloud, Florida. It is the Deseret Cattle and Citrus Ranch; my dad will be the plumber and my mom is still trying to figure out her duties! I am a very selfish person and so I am not too excited for them to be leaving, but I am so happy that they are able to have this opportunity to serve. They have wanted to serve a mission together for so long. In fact, I remember once when I was little, we must have been talking about missions in primary because I came home and asked my mom if she served a mission. She told me no, but that her and my dad will serve a mission together one day. Well, that one day is now. They both deserve this opportunity; they have given so much to everyone, it is now time for them to do something for themselves! Of course we will all miss them, but they are senior missionaries, so they have a lot more privileges! Plus, Florida isn't too bad of a place to make a visit to...they are right by Disney World! Megan has been telling everyone that she is saving her money for 2 things...the plane trip and Disney World. We hope to make it there early next year. I love my parents and I am so grateful for their examples...I have the best parents and I know it!

Playing at the Park - in St. George

After Lexi's baptism, we all headed to a park. It just so happened that the same weekend of Lexi's baptism, my parents were giving their farewell talks too. So, there were a ton of people around and instead of invading Allisyn's or my mom's house, we went to a park for lunch and such. It was great weather, but just a little windy. It was so great that so many people were there. My mom has only 1 sister, AuntieRo. Our families were always close, but as we get older we all live in different places so it is hard to see each other as often as we would like. My cousin Jill and her cute kids were there from WA - it just happened to be spring break! Erin and her adorable little guy came from Vegas. Brian, Kristie, and Parker came from Paragonah. And then there is John...he and his family live in St. George. I haven't seen Jill since Brian's wedding almost 7 years ago. Jill and I have kids that are 1 day apart, Dylan is one day older than Megan and we had never seen each other - crazy. I spent most of my summers as a teenager in Summit with AuntieRo and family; I was Jill's little side kick. She would always take me to the pool, to town, and on her dates! It was great fun catching up and spending time with all of them.
All of my dad's brothers and sisters came to St. George to support them. It was so great to have them all there and I know it meant a lot to my parents.

My sweet niece, Lexi, was baptized the last weekend in March. All of our family, that lives in Utah, was able to be there for the adventure. Lexi was such a trooper...she had broken out in hives the day before and they were still there. Hot water makes the hives hurt and itch worse so she really wanted the water in the font to be cold, but her dad said no way! After her dad finished with the baptism, Lexi's little sister, Erica, said "my turn!" Erica just has to wait 6 more years. Megan was so excited to be there, she and Lexi are great friends and Megan misses her so much and always asks when we are going to St. George next. Congratulations Lexi...we are all so proud of you.
