First Day of 3rd Grade

Megan started 3rd Grade this year - crazy how fast time is going by and how much this girl is growing up. She was a bit nervous before school started because she "heard" that 3rd grade had more bullies. Makes me sad that she is worried about that. Part of that comes from her height, or lack there of. 1st and 2nd grade were pretty tough as far as getting teased about being so short, but that is something that won't change for a very long time. I told her a story that happened to me on my first day of 3rd grade...when I went into my classroom on the first day of school, my teacher, Ms. Johnson, came up to me and asked if I was looking for my big sister. For real! I told her "no, I am in your class." We laughed and she became one of my favorite teachers through elementary school. After I told Megan this, she laughed and then was a little bit better. So far things have been great with school. Megan isn't having issues with being short, I think she is finally just owning it - we shorties have to :). Megan is a very good kid and I am grateful for her and how hard she works at school.
