Let's Move a Piano
My piano has a story. When I was 7 years old, I was able to start taking piano lessons. I did that until I was 14. One might hear this and think that I am pretty good at playing said piano...let me clarify...I am not good. I can read music and figure things out, but let's face it, my parents paid for therapy for those 7 years! I loved my teacher to pieces...Maisa Simpson. In fact, I ran into her a few weeks ago at a funeral and cried because I love that lady. Okay, back to my piano's story. So, it has always been known that when my mom dies I get the piano. After all, I took lessons the longest (probably didn't practice the most though). So when my parents move to St. George, I told them to leave the piano with me. I won't call it "my piano" until my mom was gone, but that I was just housing it for her. No. Mom didn't like that. She wanted her piano with her. Well, not too long after they moved (less than a year) she called and told me that I could have the piano. Wahoo! Ryan was less thrilled because that meant he now had to get said piano from St. George to home, that and now we have a piano to move every time we move. :) So, I have the piano. It moved with us to the basement when we lived with Ryan's parents. When we moved out in January of this year, the piano stayed in the basement. Mostly because Ryan was done moving things and the last thing he wanted to move was a piano. Well, the basement of his parents is going to be getting other tenants so I wanted my piano out of their way and back into my life. I work in an office of about 1200 people, 1100 of which are men. I was pretty confident that I could find 4 men willing to move a piano up some stairs to wait for Ryan to get home and finish it off. Well, the first four I asked said yes! Wahoo! So, one day at lunch, we drove on over to the in-laws and moved a piano. I took a few pictures, but then I couldn't watch. I had to go upstairs and pretend like nothing was happening! And now the piano is in my home and I love it being there. Something is just right about it.
Luke Kenneth
My sister, Allisyn, had her fourth baby on June 21st. Luke Kenneth Wright. He lives in St. George (boo). I didn't get to meet him until he was 3 weeks old, but he is sure a cutie and such a good baby.
Let's Cut it Off!
Now that Megan finished her wax museum as Emma Watson...Hermoine Granger...she decided to get her hair cut. Not just a little. No. This girl cut it all off. She didn't want an a-line which i was sad about, so she just had 7 inches cut off into a bob. Of course she looks cute. Of course it is easier to comb. I do miss being able to just pull it in a pony tail or braiding it (I was starting to get very adventurous with braiding). She likes to flip it, wavy it, curl it, whatever!

Expelliarmus!
At Megan's school in the 3rd grade, they do a wax museum for their presentation on a biography. Megan choose to be Emma Watson aka Hermione Granger. She and I worked on her poster and I was able to borrow a costume for her to use. After I finished her hair in the morning, I couldn't believe how much she looked like Hermione! She did a great job at being a wax figure!
A Wish Come True
Have you ever wanted something that you could never have? I am sure...everyone has something they really want. Well, one of those things for me is long hair. Yes, I really want long hair and never could grow it. One of the reasons I couldn't grow it is because I would always end up chopping my hair off, but hey, it still wouldn't grow. I have very fine, thin hair and when it got to a certain point in length, it pretty much stops growing. I had told Ryan for a long time that I just need hair extensions, but that wouldn't ever happen because I am too cheap! So my friend's daughter has these extensions and they are pretty great. The best part, you clip them in and out and they are affordable. So, my birthday wishes finally came true...my hair finally grew!
Oink! Oink!
This kid is a crack up! She makes me laugh every single day. They were learning the animals at school and this particular day was PIG DAY. She begged me to take her picture and send to Grandma Kay - I was happy too. The snout is made from a portion of an egg carton and they colored it with pink chalk. They also put pink chalk on their cheeks too. Seriously, how could this not make you smile and laugh?!?! Oink! Oink!
Mom and Sister's Only!
Back in May, my mom, sisters and I all got together for 4 days of being just us! We decided to go to Vegas because it got us "away" and it was easier/cheaper for Kristin to fly into Vegas. Suzanne and I started off by leaving SLC and going to St. George. We picked up mom and Allie the next day and left for Vegas. We checked into our condo and then headed to the airport to get Kristin. We ate a lot, lounged at the pool a lot, and shopped a lot. It was good times. We have never been just us before; someone always had a kid or two or a husband, someone. So we just made it happen and it was so great. I love my mom and sisters...they are not just my family, but my best friends.

Accidents Happen
My mom and Megan had a car accident. My mom felt so bad and Megan was so scared. The police officer was super nice to my mom and Megan; Megan was mostly worried that she was going to get in trouble. All turned out okay in the end. My mom was a month without her car while it was fixed; Megan survived; and the other person was totally fine as well. In fact, he said the worst that happened was some of his Diet Pepsi spilled on his shoe! It was pretty funny and all turned out fine in the end.

Easter 2012
Easter this year took us to Peter and Cori's. They blessed their new little guy, Hudson. After the blessing, we headed back to their home, had lunch and a huge Easter Egg/candy grab for the kids. Peter working for Hershey's has it benefits! Their backyard was covered in eggs and what candy wouldn't fit in the eggs, was dumped out on the lawn. When we got home we took the kids to the park to fly kites - they had a great time. We ended the day with sit ups (Megan) and dancing (Morgan).
Girl's Getaway
At the end of March, the girls and I took off to St. George for the weekend. I used it as an excuse to clean my parents house a bit before they arrived home from mission #2 and of course to see my sister Allie and her cute kids. It was a chill weekend, no plans, no schedules, just hanging out! On Sunday morning, I took the girls to the St. George Temple Visitor Center. In all the years I have been to St. George, I have never visited the Visitor Center. Wow! That place is awesome. They have a video display that is so great; the girls and I enjoyed it. We then took our time and walked around the Temple grounds. It was a bit overcast, but still nice. We then headed home on Monday and back to real life. :)

Nine is Fine!
Megan turned 9 on March 8th. She woke up to balloons at her door in the morning and then I checked her out of school for lunch. Later we went to dinner, her choice was Golden Corral (not sure where that came from). When we got home from dinner, she opened her presents. The next day she had her friend party and she chose the Muppet's. We put together some decorations and a few games. The next day she told me we could count that part as a success! Sunday we had family over and she had a great time with aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents. Overall, it was a long weekend, but full of fun birthday stuff for her.
Megan is such a sweet girl and we love her so much. She has such compassion for others around her; sometimes I tell her to remember she is a kid. She is a phenomenal reader and loves to read. She is a great student and all of the teachers lover her (both school and church). She helps me around the house, but not without some pushing from mom ;). I do love her and enjoy spending time with her.
