Another week has gone by...

May is already more than half over - can you believe it? May is one of those month's for our family that there is always a lot going on. Between birthday's and anniversaries and of course Memorial Day, the month always flies on by.

Last week, Megan spent the day with her friend Hannah while I went to work and Morgan went to Grandma Marilyn's. Hannah's mom, Heather, and I used to work together a few years ago and have remained great friends. I am so happy that Heather and her family moved back to Salt Lake and that they moved close to us so we can have more good friends close by. Megan and Hannah had a great time together. They went to the library, park - and had a real pick nick, and when I got to the house to pick her up they had built a "hide out". Megan asked if she could go there everyday - of course I don't want to burn Heather or Hannah out! Heather had a baby boy one week before I had Morgan, so it is nice to have kids the same age.

Morgan went to the doctor last week - she is now 4 months old. She weighs 11 lbs 13 oz, is 23 inches long, and her head size is 41.2. For her weight she is in the 45%, height is 35%, and head size is 60%. She did have to get 4 shots again, but she handled them like a champ. She cried for about 30 seconds and then was calm...she is a trooper.

Ryan and I just worked, worked, and then more work! Ryan works so hard and I can't be more grateful for a husband that isn't afraid to work. I am beginning to feel the challenges of having kids in school. I received a phone call from Megan's school on Thursday afternoon letting me know that there will not be a bus to bring home the kindergartners on the morning session of kindergarten. So, just when something simple seems to be okay, there is a kink in the plan. I have some great neighbors, friends, and family that have already offered to help out with getting Megan home from school - so thank you to all!

This last weekend was really nice - the weather was great. I did some yard work, finished preparing my lesson for Sunday, and BBQ'd some hamburgers. My lesson was on temple marriage and I was really please with my Mia Maids. They participated and asked questions; I really feel like they enjoyed the lesson. Sometimes with 14-15 year old's it is hard to get their attention, but yesterday I think I was somewhat successful.

We are getting visitors for Memorial Weekend - yippee! My parents are coming up from St. George and they are going to stay with us. Megan is so excited and has a special treat planned for them when they get here. She is already counting down the days - she loves her grandparents (both sets) and loves their visits.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there - all those that are "moms" in my life, but especially to my mom! Just so everyone knows, I have the bestest mommy in the whole world ever! I love you mom! My mother's day weekend wasn't too eventful. Ryan was sick with the wonderful head cold and congestion. So Saturday, Megan, Morgan, and I went with Michelle to run some errands. After that Megan played on the computer for awhile and then the three of us headed up to Peter and Cori's house for Reese's birthday party...Reese turned 1!!!! It was nice to finally see Pete and Cori's home - it is very nice and of course Cori has out done herself with the painting of her girl’s rooms. On the way to the birthday party, Megan asked me what I wanted her to be when she grew up. I told her that there is a lot to choose from and then she continued to say that she thinks she will be a doctor. I told her that would be really good so that she could help people when they got sick, but she quickly corrected me and told me that she wanted to be the doctor that helps the babies get born..."What kind of doctor is that mom?" So I told her that it was an obstetrician. So, Megan has decided that she would like to be an obstetrician when she grows up! I will start accepting donations to Megan's medical school fund anytime!
So then Sunday came and the girls and I headed to church. After church I attempted to get my Sunday nap in, but Megan kept waking me up and asking me questions so I was able to get a little rest. That night went over to Ryan’s parents to wish his mom a Happy Mother’s Day. We spent some time there and while we were there Robert and Amy and their family came over as well as BJ and Trisha. It was great to be with everyone and just sit around and visit. I have added some pictures of the day.

Ryan and I have 2 beautiful girls, Megan who is 5 and Morgan who is 4 months. Megan just recently went to Kindergarten Oreintaion and she is so excited for Kindergarten she can hardly wait. She is most looking forward to riding the big, yellow bus! Morgan is growing so fast and is just as cute as ever. The other night she rolled off the couch, but luckily she rolled onto some clothes so it was a soft landing. Ryan continues to run his business, although new home construction and sales is extremely slow. He works so hard and is so great at being a dad and husband - I couldn't ask for better. I went back to work about a month ago after taking off 12 weeks for maternity leave. I am so fortunate to have a job where I was able to take that much time off to spend with my girls. I am still working for EDS as an executive admin as well as a business analyst. Things get crazy there, but it really is a good job and I am able to work from home one day a week so I get to spend that much more time with the girls - my own m and m's!


I picked Morgan up yesterday and this is what I found! Grandma Marilyn thought it was too cute so she didn't take the thumb out and put the binky in its place. Hopefully this doesn't develop into a bad habit - we are trying to stay on top of it!
